The IceToolz brake shoe tuner is a tool for professionals and do-it-yourselfers. With the arrow pointing towards the direction of travel of the wheel clamped over the rim, the ideal position of the brake pads can be determined.
If the brake pads are placed completely parallel to the rim, there is a good chance that they will squeak. The brake pads must be placed with “toe-in”. This means that the front of the brake pads point slightly closer to the rim than the rear. The brake shoe tool has already been taken into account with this skew, toe-in. The front of the brake shoe tuner is slightly thinner than the rear. The correct height can also be easily determined with the brake shoe tool. Mount the brake pads against the top edge of the brake shoe tuner and the brake shoe/pads are in the correct position.
