This derailleur hanger adjuster is a measuring and aligning tool in one. You screw the extension of the orange rod (1) into the derailleur hanger. Then measure the distance to the rim at various points with the pin in the sliding block of the pad aligner (2). As can be seen in the video, it is useful to always measure at the valve, in order to prevent measurement errors due to a stroke in the wheel. By now comparing the distance from the pin to the rim at various places, it is possible to check whether the derailleur hanger is parallel to the wheel. If this text is difficult, it is certainly advisable to watch the video, see link below. If the path turns out not to be parallel to the rim, it can be oriented by bending it with the orange bar. NB: Do not use the aluminum measuring part for this!
